Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

I have extensive experience treating patients with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. CBT is one of the most effective psychological approaches for a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance abuse and insomnia. CBT builds a set of skills that enables an individual to be aware of thoughts and emotions; identify how situations, thoughts, and behaviours influence emotions; and break the cycle of dysfunctional thoughts and behaviours. After learning CBT techniques, people can “become their own therapists” by using what they’ve learned to address future problems.
